Sending a takedown notice

Your notice must be in writing and include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature (or that of a person authorized to act for the copyright owner).
  • The copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  • The material you say is infringing and where it is on Zero to One (a link is best), so we can find it.
  • Your name, mailing address, phone number, and email.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner.

You do not need an account. Every public page and post has a Report link; choose “Copyright or IP”, or use the form below. Knowingly false notices can create liability (17 U.S.C. 512(f)).

Counter-notices

If we removed your content and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice (choose “Counter-notice” in the form). It must identify the removed material and where it appeared, include your name, address, phone number, and signature, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address. We forward valid counter-notices to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us they have filed a court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice, as the law provides.

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances we close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyrights. Closed accounts cannot sign in and their content is hidden.
